The Child Support Agency (CSA) has been replaced by the Child Maintenance and Enforcement Commission – www.childmaintenance.org
Despite the Child Support Agency being replaced by the Child Maintenance and Enforcement Commission, the CSA are still administering child support.
There are plans to change from the net income formula, as detailed on our children page, child support agency.
There are plans to change this to a calculation based upon gross income. This will be a lower percentage and it is intended to simplify the system by gathering information direct from the Inland Revenue and the non-resident parent’s P60. This would automatically take accounts of bonus payments etc.
The costs of collection are considered too high and the Government is planning to simplify the system, ease the administrative burden and charge people who request an assessment.
No date has been given as to its implementation or confirmation as to the percentage rates as yet.
