Each of you needs a Collaboratively Trained Lawyer
When you instruct a Collaborative lawyer and understand the emotional and financial benefits of selecting Collaborative law a difficulty can be convincing your ex-partner to go down this route. He or she may feel that any lawyer recommended by you may not be looking after his/her best interests.
The Solution
We offer two Collaborative Lawyers for the price of one – almost! Other Collaborative law websites quote fees of between £8,000.00 and £15,000.00 each.
Lynne Bastow has joined forces with collaborative lawyers based in London and Southampton to offer a complete fixed fee collaborative law package.
If you instruct Lynne Bastow she will ask you to provide your partner with the link to the other lawyers’ videos outlining the collaborative process and what they can bring to assist your separation process so that they can chose which lawyer they think is most suitable for them.
We will ensure that the other lawyers suggested are extremely experienced.
The Benefits of Collaborative Law
You each receive legal advice in the meetings. Unlike mediation where you have to take legal advice independently after the meeting and then reconvene to discuss the way forward, in Collaborative Law you both have your lawyers available to advise you during the course of the meeting.
If the advice is similar, then an agreement can be reached on certain points swiftly. If the advice is different this helps you realize that going to court is a Judicial lottery, either party could win or lose depending on which Judge hears your case.
It is open to you both to focus on a solution which will work for your family recognising that neither party expects to get everything they hope for. This is very different to litigation which can be a win or lose gamble.
